Alan Green has lived in Spring Green Township, Sauk County, for three years, having come from Placer County, California, where he and his wife, Katie lived for fourteen years after moving from Green Bay. In California, Alan was a volunteer with the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency, trying to combine transportation planning with explosive population growth into a largely agricultural area northeast of Sacramento. He also served with numerous other citizen-based groups to control mineral extraction, water quality, and housing development, and to promote local food production in Placer County’s agricultural lands. Alan is a retired consultant and business executive, a serious gardener, reader, hiker, and is active in civic and cultural affairs in Spring Green and the Lower Wisconsin River Valley. He hopes to live the rest of his life here.
