Eugene (Gene) Hausner

Eugene Hausner retired in January of 2007, after being employed with the USDA- Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), as a Resource Conservationist.  As a Soil Conservationist/Resource Conservationist, Gene worked in Dane, Columbia, Shawano, Monroe, and Barron Counties, in addition to serving as Area Resource Conservationist in Southwestern Wisconsin, assisting landowners and producers in the planning and implementing of land use and best management practices (BMP’s) to address soil erosion, water quality, plant health and grazing management, in addition to wildlife and woodland habitat management.

Gene has served as Village of Spring Green Trustee during the past eight years, and is active in the River Valley FFA Alumni Association.  Two highlights of Gene’s career was serving as President of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Soil & Water Conservation Society, (SWCS) and President of the Wisconsin Certified Crop Advisors (CCA’s).

Gene resides in Spring Green, with his wife, Georgene.  When not working, Gene likes to spend time as a beekeeper, assist in the restoration of the Old Franklin Town Hall Historical Society, along with FFA Alumni activities.
