Values

Following are Values set forth by the Comprehensive Planning Steering Committee:

Agriculture: We value responsibly and sustainably managed, economically viable, locally owned, family farms to preserve productive farmland and agricultural heritage through a cooperative effort among farmers, rural land owners, government and other citizens.

Collaboration:  We value inclusiveness, finding common ground and building on the successful efforts of others.

Community:  We value a diverse and caring community that balances and recognizes our social, economic, institutional and natural assets.

Diversity:  We value diversity of community, economy, education, culture, ethnicity, natural resources, individual beliefs and thought.

Economy:  We value a sustainable economy that considers opportunity, stability, security, natural resources, technology and quality of life for all stakeholders.

Government:  We value an honest, collaborative, responsive, transparent, and accessible government with public participation and mutual responsibility.

Sustainability:  We value meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Transportation:  We value an efficient, attractive, economical, effective and safe transportation system that provides a variety of integrated options to equitably serve the public.

Natural Resources: We value the responsible use, preservation and protection of natural resources for present and future generations.
